Maya Angelou: Angel on Earth and beyond

Today marks a very sad day for our world. Maya Angelou passed away this morning at age 86. Not only did she live a long and full life; her legacy will live on for decades. In most instances; people’s words seem to mean more once they pass, but her words meant so much while she was here. Of course people who have never heard of her until today will be astounded at all of the lessons she shared with the world.

What if we all lived a life of servitude, beauty and wisdom just as Maya Angelou did? What if we all tapped into that part of ourselves and shared our wisdom with the world? What a magical place this would be.

Shine your light on the world

I’d like to share some of my favorite Maya Angelou quotes…

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”

“The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them.”

“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”

“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.”

You succeeded in your mission and we are forever grateful to you for sharing your love and light with the world. May we all live with such light we shine everywhere we go. May we all speak with such wisdom; people listen. May we all be as loved and rejoiced as you are sweet angel. Rest in Peace Maya Angelou.
