Time is always going at the exact same pace no matter what the circumstances of our life may be. When we are having a wonderful time we wish that time would stop or at least slow down. When life’s puzzle pieces seem to be falling together nicely we hope that super glue will come in to play to keep it that way forever. On the other hand, when life seems to be handing us obstacles and confusion we are searching everywhere for the remote so we can fast forward through it. This is all called life .
There will be ups and downs; nothing EVER stays the same and we need to learn how to be grateful for the good times and graceful during the more somber times. During the amazing and happy times of our life we need to stop and relish in EVERY moment because unfortunately it can and will turn eventually. As long as you can swallow this realization you will be juuuuust fine. 🙂 During the more shadowy times of life take it moment by moment and remember that you’ve been through bad times and always have come out on the other side somehow some way. Keep the faith. Sit and listen to the lessons that are being whispered to you through the shadows. I guarantee there are many. A key to getting through these times is to to surround yourself with a positive support system – trust me- it will make all the difference.
Stop wishing for things to be the way they were because the past is just that- the past. It can not be undone and it can not be redone. Set one foot in front of the other and live in the now. This is where life is most beautiful and can actually be lived in.
Although time is always ticking and tocking in the background know that is it always a constant and that the present is what you need to embrace. When something starts to bother you about the past ask yourself “Is this really going to make a difference in this very moment to torture myself with the remember whens?” When something starts to bother you about the future ask yourself “Is this worrying really making a difference in this present moment to what the future may or may not hold?” The answer inevitably will be no. You are hindering the true essence of your fullest life potential when living too much in the past or the future.
“Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry — all forms of fear — are cause by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of nonforgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence” – The Power of Now
Let’s learn to live in the now.
